This meeting will introduce you to the Montessori philosophy and the basic view of children, families and learning that we have here at SWSM. The hallways are filled with the aroma and sounds of the holiday! The First Thanksgiving play has been diligently rehearsed every day and will be performed by the Extended Day Class on Monday, November 25th. Hopefully for all of the students who presently attend or have attended the SWSM Extended Day program, their first true experience of Americana when asked would be our infamous THANKSGIVING PLAY — for you cannot be in the play until your kindergarten year, a right of passage so to say. You are officially old enough to come together as a group and tell this historical story to an audience — not just any audience, but your family!
The most meaningful of all the enterprises involved in this production is the simple and so effective moral lesson. The white man flees the King of England to be free. The Native Americans with their rich and diverse cultures were the first people to occupy this land. The white man and the native man may look different and live differently but are ultimately one in the same. They both seek respect, peace, liberty and harmony amongst themselves and equally with one another. It doesn’t get more American than that!
This is certainly an evening you won’t want to miss! Everyone is welcome. You may contact our office if you would like to purchase tickets.
The auction is a lively, fun social evening. The admission cost covers all food, beer and wine; and the bidding can be electronically placed on a wide variety of gift baskets, sporting events, gift cards, children’s items, spa visits or dinners. The list goes on. You won’t want to miss any part of this event that supports the children of Southwest Suburban Montessori!
Please join SWSM for a Back to School Potluck Dinner on Tuesday, October 8th, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.

- Greet old friends and meet new ones!
This is an adult only event.

Afterwards, spend the afternoon at the Autumn in the Park Festival which will be featuring live music, great food, chili and BBQ cook-off and so much more. This event has something for everyone! For more information, go to Autumn-In-The-Park-Festival.
